Depression

We have all experienced feelings of sadness or depression in our lives. Loss, disappointment, regrets can leave us feeling despondent. When these feelings endure for a prolonged time, and impact an individual’s ability to function, it may be a depressive disorder. Depression is the most common disorder people experience over the course of a lifetime.

CBT is a proven effective treatment for depression. Individuals are assisted in identifying the negative cognitions, maladaptive beliefs, and behaviors which are leading to their depressed mood. More adaptive (and often more realistic) thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors are explored, internalized, and lead to improved mood and functioning.
